CLIENT PROFILE: We have partnered with a highly recognizable industry leading consumer goods manufacturer and distributor in their search for a Senior Level Staff Accountant. POSITION TITLE: Senior Staff Accountant POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Staff Accountant assists the accounting manager with full cycle accounting and financial analysis. This position will support the accounting team to ensure accurate accounting records and financial statements as well as process financial data in accordance with GAAP. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform monthly close functions, including account reconciliations, accruals and preparation of journal entriesPrepare monthly account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items on a monthly basis.Ensure that adequate supporting documentation is maintained for audit purposes.Ensure all month-end journal entries are recorded following the monthly close scheduleResponsible for reconciliation of intercompany accounts Prepare fluctuation of balance sheets and other ad hoc analysesAssists with quarterly & annual review analysis as needed.Preparation of audit and tax schedules for year end.Timely prepare state tax filings, property taxes and other regulatory filings as neededPromote internal controls, adherence to operating procedures and compliance to financial reporting guidelinesAssists with ad hoc accounting and financial projects as requestedPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:3+ years of accounting experience within a mid to large sized companyBA or BS in accounting or finance preferredExperience in manufacturing (food, consumer goods and/or import business is a plus) Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and financial reportingAdvanced Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, etc.) Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, ability to accurately process numerical dataExcellent Communication is key!Knowledge or familiarity of Cost Accounting is a plus PAY TRANSPARENCY: A reasonable estimate of the available annual pay scale for this position is: $85-90K.
