Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Electrical Engineer – Build
Power and Control Systems for Next Generation Spacecraft! Los
Angeles, CA | On-Site Opportunity Summary A rapidly scaling
aerospace organization is developing advanced electric propulsion
and power systems that enable high-performance operations in Very
Low Earth Orbit as well as future spacecraft platforms. Their
technology is focused on improving maneuverability, extending
mission life, and reducing operational cost for both commercial and
government space missions. As an Electrical Engineer, you will help
design and deliver the core electronics that power these propulsion
systems and support spacecraft integration. In this role, you will
take ownership of power electronics, embedded control hardware, and
high voltage systems that form the backbone of propulsion
architectures. About Us We are an early-stage aerospace engineering
company focused on high-efficiency electric propulsion, spacecraft
power systems, and advanced control electronics. Our team brings
deep experience in plasma propulsion, embedded systems, energy
conversion, and integrated spacecraft engineering. We operate with
a fast-moving, collaborative culture where engineers have ownership
across concept development, prototyping, validation, and flight
hardware delivery. With growing interest in VLEO missions and
next-generation spacecraft, we are expanding our engineering team
and technical capabilities. Job Duties Design and develop power
electronics and control systems that support VLEO propulsion
hardware and future spacecraft subsystems Build high voltage
converters, switching modules, and power distribution units that
drive propulsive and auxiliary electrical loads Develop embedded
control boards and sensor interfaces supporting ignition, discharge
control, thermal regulation, and VLEO specific requirements
Prototype circuits and assemblies, perform bring up testing,
evaluate performance data, and iterate designs rapidly Write
embedded control software and automation scripts in C, C++, or
Python to support telemetry, system monitoring, and test automation
Conduct derating analysis, worst case circuit evaluation, and
reliability assessments suitable for launch and orbital
environments Collaborate closely with propulsion, avionics,
mechanical, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless
integration of electrical hardware Support qualification campaigns
including vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal cycling, and EMI or
EMC testing Prepare technical documentation, design reviews, test
reports, and internal development packages Contribute to build
readiness through fixture design, vendor coordination, and
production test planning Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or
Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related
field 3 years of experience working in power electronics, embedded
control systems, or high voltage electrical hardware Experience
designing analog and digital circuits and developing high voltage
systems for demanding environments Proficiency with Python and C++
for embedded development, automation, or test scripting Hands on
experience with microcontrollers, hardware software interfaces, and
data acquisition systems Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and
lab based testing skills Ability to operate effectively in a fast
paced, collaborative, and hands on engineering culture Preferred
Experience Background working with plasma propulsion, ion
propulsion, VLEO systems, or high energy electrical technologies
Experience supporting flight qualified hardware, ruggedized
electronics, and EMI or EMC compliant designs Familiarity with PCB
layout tools such as Altium, KiCad, or OrCAD Understanding of
spacecraft power architecture, avionics integration, or system
level verification workflows Prior experience in a startup or rapid
iteration engineering environment with end to end ownership Why
Join Us Build electronics that enable emerging VLEO missions and
future spacecraft platforms Hands-on ownership from concept through
test, qualification, and flight readiness Work in a collaborative
environment focused on solving hard engineering problems Strong
career growth opportunities with exposure across propulsion,
avionics, and spacecraft systems Competitive benefits including:
Career advancement and technical growth Fast moving and flexible
