We are bringing innovation to a stagnant industry and are looking for a Director of Operations to join our team! Position Summary: The Director of Operations provides leadership, direction, and mentorship to the operations team with a focus in customer service and efficiency. They must promote a positive work environment through teamwork and peer driven excellence while fostering professional relationships with all Ambulnz's customers and stakeholders. Essential Functions: The Director of Operations may be assigned one or more duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism in both appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of trust and teamwork with the entire operational team.
  • Serve as a point of contact for members of the operational team.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the service area, current services, and contracted facilities.
  • Serve as a liaison between the field operations and the Communication Center.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet Department to ensure efficient use and maintenance of vehicle resources.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the quality assurance and improvement programs.
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations when applicable, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel with a goal of developing a team-oriented approach with positive results.
  • Collaborate effectively with management, Communication Center, and Fleet Department to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of familiarity with local, regional and state regulations that pertain to EMS.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of familiarity and compliance with all internal and customer policies and procedures related to daily operations.
  • Review data, reports and statistical information, analyze trends and render recommendations pertinent to operational effectiveness.
  • Schedule and conduct operations staff meetings and/or training sessions.
  • Participate in the selection of new personnel and the interview process.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems as appropriate.
  • Assist with driving performance evaluation and remediation.
  • Provide guidance and/or corrective action to subordinates when needed
  • Act as a resource for all field employees
  • Provide daily oversight for Operations
  • Assist management with operational changes
  • Comply with all employment laws and support affirmative action/equal opportunity and diversity goals.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications:
    • Minimum of three years of emergency medical operations experience.
    • Minimum of two years in general supervisory experience.
    • Demonstrated background of successful customer service experience.
    • Driving record in compliance with company policy regarding insurability.--
    • Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Current valid State of California EMT or Paramedic Certification, as well as any and all other licenses and certification required by field personnel.
    • Experience in teaching highly recommended Certifications and Licenses:
      • A valid California driver's license
      • Current California Paramedic or EMT license
      • Current CPR certification
      • Ambulance Driver's certification
