Job Description:

To receive, label and store food stuffs at a restaurant. Safely uses kitchen tools and equipment to prepare food for customer consumption. Cleans kitchen, work tools, equipment and work area to restaurant sanitary standards. Assembles and properly presents customer orders. Is the second employee in line to provide customer service.Physical, Environmental, and Sensory Requirements:

  • Consider the standing, sitting, walking, carrying, climbing, crouching, crawling, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching (above head, at body level, below waist) grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination requirements:
  • Able to lift, carry and store food stuffs up to 20 lbs. which will require grasping, reaching, pulling and pushing of equal weight.
  • Consider the sensory requirements of touching/feeling, tasting, hearing, speaking, seeing, and smelling:
  • Must hear instructions and read/see orders. Must speak to communicate with customers and coworkers. Must be able to see and prepare food products.
  • Evaluate environmental issues like temperature, noise and uneven ground. List Chemicals used:
  • Works in warm kitchen and enters/exits coolers as required. Uses standard cleaning agents when cleaning work area, equipment and utensils.
    Essential Qualifications and Requirements:Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current Food Handler Certification required. Other: None Must have working knowledge and use of basic English (40%), and Spanish (60%).Duties and Responsibilities:1. Customer Service
    a. Welcomes customers with proper King Taco greeting. Communicates with customers and addresses all of their questions and issues in a professional manner. b. Communicates with customer about their order preferences and assembles the complete customer food order. c. Ensures proper presentation of food on the plate.
    2. Food Preparation
    a. Properly and safely uses kitchen equipment including holding units, cutting boards, and utensils. b. Cleans work area including but not limited to preparation area tables, floors, walls, sinks, walk-in coolers, dry storage, utensils and ice machine. c. Seasons chicken with marinade and stores it while it marinates until it is ready for its intended use. d. May be required to prepare tortillas, package them and place them in the warming unit. e. May be required to prepare beans, rice and other sides. f. Knows and performs each of the processes to cook, heat and prepare all Company products.
    3. Receiving
    a. Packs and tags shipments with arrival dates.b. Stores food stuffs in their proper locations. c. Ensures daily proper rotation of food products.
    4. Other Duties
    a. Responsible for own personal uniforms and hygiene. b. May assist in the training of new Food Servers. c. May assist in the training of new Food Preparation employees. d. Performs other related assignments and tasks as required/requested by management such as cleaning restaurant tables, seats and floors.Company IntroductionFounded in 1974, King Taco began its operation from a converted ice cream truck.
