Forecasting Director, Rare Disease & Biosimilars What you will do
Lets do this. Lets change the world. The Forecasting team at Amgen
serves as a key partner to Commercial leadership, providing
strategic guidance and data-backed insights. This role is
instrumental in driving commercial success and shaping future
strategies for our Rare Disease pipeline assets. The Director of
Forecasting will oversee a team of >5 talented individuals (full
time Amgen FTE Contingent Worker) and is responsible for leading
the forecasting efforts for several pipeline assets and diseases
within the rare disease business unit. The individual in this role
will need to skillfully influence and challenge a diverse set of
stakeholders from Commercial, R&D, Medical, Finance,
Manufacturing, Access, and Pricing/Contracting, while proficiently
understanding the nuances of each disease area and markets they
support. They will serve as a mentor, developing talent and guiding
the team while providing technical guidance in forecasting
methodologies. Additionally, the Director will articulate the
interplay between Forecasting and related functions within
Commercial Data & Analytics (Market Research, Commercial Insights,
Competitive Intelligence, and, Analytics) in contributing to the
forecast. Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA or Deerfield,
IL office. You will work on-site a minimum of 2-3 days a week. This
position reports to the ED of Global Forecasting & Competitive
Intelligence and will be responsible for the following: Primary
point of contact for senior Therapeutic Area leaders to engage in
the forecasting deliverables for the organization Facilitate
consensus-building among senior stakeholders to establish clear,
transparent, and rigorous WW sales expectations for the pipeline
assets by gaining their alignment and endorsement for forecast
assumptions Help leadership identify actionable strategies to
maximize Commercial potential by identifying and prioritizing
relevant risks & opportunities Provide recommendations on whether
to proceed with product development or discontinue certain projects
based on market conditions, financial projections, and strategic
goals Analyze competitors and market dynamics to inform forecasting
models and strategic decisions Develop an objective point of view
of brand strategy by integrating insights across multiple functions
and capability areas Leverage communication and interpersonal
skills to influence leadership on recommended course of action
Quantify uncertainty through the use of scenario planning and
advanced simulation models (e.g. Monte Carlo analysis, statistical
trending) Utilize an in-depth understanding of diverse
pharmaceutical data sources (e.g. LAAD, National Audit Rx, Xponent,
Epidemiology data sources etc.) and their nuances to develop and
implement enhanced forecasting approaches and methodologies Create
and deliver effective presentations that are transparent and
articulate all key variables in the forecast, ensuring clarity and
comprehensive understanding for stakeholders involved in
decision-making processes Collaborate with the broader CD&A
(Commercial Data & Analytics) organization to integrate
comprehensive insights and analytics knowledge into the development
and refinement of forecasts. This collaboration aims to enhance the
depth and accuracy of forecasts by leveraging a broad spectrum of
insights across the organization Drive productivity and efficiency,
streamlining forecasting processes where possible What we expect of

with these qualifications. Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree
and 4 years of experience in forecasting in biopharma OR Masters
degree and 7 years of experience in forecasting in biopharma OR
Bachelors degree and 9 years of experience in forecasting in
biopharma Preferred Qualifications: Leadership experience in
building and developing high-performing teams Ability to quickly
establish credibility with and influence SVP level staff Alignment
of teams to best practices and championing new innovative
methodologies and tools Business acumen that lends itself to
understanding the context and dynamics of pharmaceutical markets
for relevant disease areas Partnership with business leaders to
deliver high-quality predictions guiding strategic decision-making
Oral, written, and presentation skills to explain complex concepts
and controversial findings clearly to a variety of audiences,

range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted.
Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not
limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. In
